busy busy busy!!!!

The past few days have been compacted with a million great things that have made this past week and weekend the best ever!

On Thursday morning Rudi and I left for Vancouver to see the amazing Carrie Underwood in concert! We just about missed the ferry because there was some unexpected roadwork traffic. Ru and I sat there screaming at the other cars "Seriously people???! We have a concert to go to! and a ferry to catch!!!!!! Lets get going!" haha. And then we laughed at ourselves.

Once we got into Vancouver Rudi and I checked into the hotel and then zipped of to Metrotown to meet my little brother for sushi. I had brought a gun case over for David's new gun and we made the transfer of 'goods' at the Sushi Garden (the best sushi in the whole world!). Mom had sent along Christmas cookies and Nuts and Bolts for David and I had put them into the case so I wouldn't forget to give him the treats. On our way back to the hotel I got a text from David saying he got stopped by the police on his way home because of a gun case full of cookies! haha. I am so glad that I didn't get stopped! I wouldn't have known what to say.

Ru and I got back to the hotel and got all dolled up for the concert. We donned our cowboy boots and flannel shirts and headed out for the main event of our trip! After paying $4.25 for a bottle of water (of which I wasn't allowed to have the bottle cap!) we found our seats down on the floor only 11 rows from the stage. Honestly.... we were so close that we could see the hairs on peoples heads! It was amazing.

The first opening band was Sons of Sylvia... and they were pretty terrible. Rudi and I laughed through the whole set at their major power lunges (the whole time!), very tight jeans, creepy faces and odd dance moves. After the weirdos Billy Currington came on stage and he was phenomenal! Unlike the guys who came on right before him and tried SO hard to get to the audience to participate, Billy had the crowd wrapped around his little finger! He was amazing.

Then finally CARRIE UNDERWOOD! I really have no words to describe how incredible she was! A billion times better in person than on CD. She had about 6 costume changes and set changes. AH! it was amazing. The pinnacle moment was when she was flying through the air in the back of an old blue pickup. mhmm! Thats right. The truck was suspended by cables and then run on a track around the arena. I wish everyone in the world could have been there so that I don't have to try to explain it to you! Maybe just buy a ticket to her next concert, then you'll understand what I'm talking about.

After the most incredible concert ever Ru and I had another adventure.... late night outing with Jackie Chen. So many laughs, food, ice cream, (found $20), and then back to the hotel. Unfortunately when we drove up to the hotel all the guests were out on the street and there were two fire trucks on the street. So we took another drive around the block and then it was finally time for bed.

The next morning we were up and ready for a day of window shopping down Robson Street. After we'd had our fill of shopping we carried all our stuff back to the ferry.

Once we got to the valley I didn't actually go home.... because I had a night of house sitting lined up. Yes... house sitting season has begun again. I am house sitting for a week after Christmas and then for another 3 weeks after that.

After a few hours asleep and at 'home' it was off to work and then off to Vic for me! I spent a few precious hours with my wonderful cousin Nissa and cousin-in-law to be Andrew. I was so great... but way too short! I don't think I'll get to see them again until their wedding in June. sigh. Why is Newfoundland so stinking far away?! I got into Victoria at around 9 Saturday night and then left at 12:30 Sunday afternoon to get back to work on time.

And then this evening was party time with friends! It was so good to see everyone again. I love this season! Everyone is home and ready to have fun.... bring on the good times!!!
