this little light.

Please excuse the chaos of this post. I know what I want to say... it is all incredible and beautiful in my mind, but I am not so good at communicating my thoughts.

This past Sunday God gave me a picture. It may seem like a simple, obvious thing.... but it really made an impact in my heart.

We were praying for some of the boys who are moving up to Fort Mac this week.... and someone said something to them about being and bringing light to a dark place. First of all it reminded me of a Shakespeare quote (haha.... don't judge me... I don't actually read Shakespeare... this is actually the only thing from grade 11 english I remember.... because there is so much truth to it)

How far that little candle throws its beams!
So shines a good deed in a weary world.

Anyways - the picture was this: When you are in a cave, and you light a candle... things become visible. You can see where you are and where you are going. Making your way forward is so much easier when you have light to see. As Christians we always carry the light with us - its Jesus.

But there is a challenge attached to this. As we move through the cave - from cavern to cavern - we take the light with us, because Christ lives within us. But as we move into the next room... the one we leave becomes completely dark again.... then the next person who enters it can't see anything because of the darkness - unless they also carry The Light with them. So our challenge is to "light" others. How amazing to be able to share the gift of light (sight) with others.

So when you enter a new cavern, find something to light on fire - find people to share the good news with.

Everyone moves through life at different paces. The more people who have this fire inside them, the more rooms there will be that have light filling them. Can you imagine how incredible it would be for someone, blundering through a cave in the dark, to find a room filled with lit candles? Or someone who is walking alone with a light to suddenly be surrounded by others carrying candles? Their fire is kindled by the body of Christ.

So it is time to walk through life sharing our lights. Share truth. Show others where they can pick up their everlasting candle and introduce them to The One who will light it for them.

Is this making any sense? ahhhhh. I wish I had the skills to translate my thoughts properly. Anyways... this is what has been on my heart and mind these days. If this has made any sense at all to you..... my challenge to you is to LIVE IT! Carry your light with pride. Share it. Help others find their way.
