too much going on.

I think that since I started writing this blog my life has gotten a whole lot more interesting. Yet again... I don't believe the craziness and hilarity of my past week.

My "brother" came over this week. He spent monday night at my parents place. We all had supper together and watched Top Gear... laughing our faces off. It was great. Then everyone except for Ryan and I went to bed. I think we were up till like 1.30 talking. It had been over a year since I had last seen him and there was great need for catching up. Then I had to drag my sleepy self back to the place I am house sitting.

On tuesday Jodie and I went for a walk and stopped in at my neighbors winery where they were making honey mead. They had just finished adding 1500 lbs of honey to the wine vat. It smelt amazing in there. I can't wait to try it! Later we went into town to pick up some groceries and later found ourselves wandered aimlessly around walmart, looking at cheap dvds, baby clothes and trying on ridiculous shoes. I think the line of the night went something like.... "oh my, look at my red toes. I think they have been drinking. Yup, my toes are drunk" And then a lot of laughter followed. It probably isn't funny to you, it was a you-had-to-be-there kind of a moment.

Wednesday I got a phone call from Ryan... FORD is now a curse word... and Found On Road Dead has become a very reasonable choice of words to describe their truck. They were heading back home to Salmon Arm from a work week at Camp Bob and the transmission on their truck went. I ended up picking the three of the guys who had come down from Gardom Lake Bible Camp, and bringing them back to my parents place. I don't think my car has ever carried so much weight or been so packed full. Three grown men and their luggage more than filled my piddly v-dub golf. As we drove home the main conversation revolved around text messaging. And Daryl trying to figure it out on his phone. Haha. I couldn't help but laugh at it all. You would have too if you'd been there... but really, there was no room in the vehicle for anything else, so you will just have to take my word for it.

Then today... haha. Jodie and I were on our way to Victoria when we found ourselves deviating from our path... and ended up going to Thetis Island. I used to live there.... did for 4 1/2 years. To keep us busy while waiting for the ferry I had a long with me an electronic "20 Questiongs" game. This thing is actually quite brilliant. All you have to do is think of something, and it asks you 20 Q's and you answer yes or no.... and it can figure it out! We had some good laughs with it, and discovered that there are a few things that it cannot guess!!! But it figured out a forklift... I was surprised about that one. Back on Thetis was quite a crazy trip down memory lane for me. And kind of exciting too. I got to take one of my great friends and show them where I grew up. We visited my old one room school house and found a sweet stepping stone that I made when I was 7. I was so surprised that I recognized it. But there it was, a round stepping stone with plastic flower beads stuck in it, joined by the stones made by my classmates and circling the little apple tree we had planted. I knew FOR SURE that it really was mine because there were 2 little beads with J's on them stuck in amongst the flowers. haha. Oh how I loved my initials, and still do. We also visited my old houses on the island. And even got to go into one of them. Its funny how everything is SO much smaller than I remembered it. But I guess I really was a lot smaller then! After that we drove down to Pilkey Point and sat on the beach for a while listening to the wind and the waves and enjoying the sunshine. We boogied it back to the ferry, made it just in time and were headed home.

Upon arrival back in Courtenay I discovered that Ryan still didn't have his truck back. So I drove him BACK into Black Creek to pick up a vehicle that they are going to borrow to get them back to Salmon Arm... or something? I really don't know what is going on. Haha. I just know that in the last few days I have done a lot of driving. Got to see my "brother" 3 times! Laughed a lot. And am now really really tired. And tomorrow I start my work week! hahaha. Oh and on Friday I start another house sitting job, but this one isn't done until Tuesday... so I will be living in two houses at one time! Oh boy.

There were so many other funny things that kept happening this week, and I would think to myself "I need to remember that so I can write about it in my blog"... but I just can't remember them all. Seriously, my life has gotten a lot more interesting since I started writing.
